Season 3 EP6: I Had to Get Back to the Basics

Sometimes you don't need to build something new. You need to get back to what was already working. In this episode of The Girl Boss Brand Podcast, I'm talking about getting back to the basics, entrepreneurship, alignment, purpose, betting on yourself, and recognizing when it's time to change direction. I've been reflecting on my entrepreneurial journey and how Girl Boss Brand came to life. I started my entrepreneurship journey through my nonprofit, eventually launched my consulting business, and during COVID helped start over 50 brands for women. That's when the Girl Boss Brand movement was born. I also share how I made $50,000 from Girl Boss Brand merch while working full-time, running my nonprofit and consulting business, and getting my master's degree. But somewhere along the way, I got away from what I originally wanted to build. Sometimes we're so focused on what's next that we forget what was already working. Sometimes we're so determined to make something happen that we don't stop to ask if it's actually what we're supposed to be doing. And sometimes getting back to the basics is exactly what we need. I'm learning that what's for me doesn't have to be forced. I can trust God, stay disciplined, pay attention to where I'm being led, and keep building from there.
