A gym can be crowded at six o'clock and still struggle to pay its bills. A member can stop visiting and continue paying. How can both be true? We follow a membership charge through the club: fixed costs, capacity at the busiest hour, opening cash, churn, and service that earns another month. A simple club budget is illustrative, not an industry average. For context, we look at an academic study of attendance and contracts, Planet Fitness filings, an FTC complaint, and Bally Total Fitness's reported obligations. The video uses licensed illustrative stock footage and original editorial illustrations. They do not depict the named companies or the study's actual participants. The FTC statements are allegations in a lawsuit; the film does not present them as a court finding.
