Wooden cabinets cover the walls, filled with glass jars, minerals, pressed flowers and small bones. Nobody has ever counted the drawers with their brass handles. A girl sits on the window ledge, writing names into the ledger on her lap. Her silver braid has fallen over her shoulder, and her fingertips are still stained with ink. Outside the window, the town is waiting for evening. Ivy and roses climb in over the stone frame. A butterfly glowing faint blue-green rests on the books by the shelf. It is the only one that never fell asleep in its jar. She has noticed, but she is in no hurry. When the name is written, she will open the window. All you can hear is her pen, the creak of old wood, and quiet strings. Take the corner of this room.
