Black Sails | Show Highlights | Marching Band

Explore highlights from Black Sails, a Grade 2.5 marching band show by Stephen Downing, written for a small band. This crowd-pleasing pirate adventure follows a voiceover-guided treasure hunt, from dark ocean waters to playful sea shanties and a mysterious siren encounter. Featuring traditional melodies including “Wellerman,” “Drunken Sailor,” and “The Sailor’s Hornpipe,” the approximately 7-minute production offers contrasting moods, recognizable music, and plenty of character.
