Final ACCO Shift

Consider this video a complementary prequel to my last upload, but also a sequel to that longer Fretus Waste feature I posted 18 months ago. These later clips were a spontaneous capture on that last Friday morning I took the big bad JP5/ACCO out before it was relieved of duty. It felt appropriate grabbing a few additional shots at the end of an era, plus showing this rear loader in a clearer picture with my phone camera! We start with the last time I would turn the ignition key on one of these trucks, to hear the Cummins engine rumble into life, then there are a few bin collections, with some driving and plenty of enjoyable audio. I also included an in-cab view while cruising through the dark Hornsby industrial area, giving a sample of what you could hear when steering one of these things from point to point, especially that distinct growl on the 2008/09/10 models. Sadly, you won’t see this equipment made again, because it was too basic, too durable and too reliable =D Goodbye to an absolute beast of a truck that was a privilege and pleasure to operate. Lastly, I highly doubt what I’ve titled this video will be proven wrong... I can’t foresee myself working with a traditional ACCO ever again – crazy to think!
