One Step from Prison

Welcome to the channel The Rust & Revolve. In a hardscrabble mining community of the 1850s, a paroled ex-convict named Keenan Deerfield arrives with nothing but a fierce determination to go straight and leave his troubled past behind. Taken on as a laborer at the ruthless Drigger Mine, he keeps his head down under the watchful eye of the aging Marshal Toll — a lawman who reminds him that one wrong move will send him straight back behind bars. All Keenan wants is a quiet, honest life, but the town he's landed in makes that nearly impossible. The mine and nearly everything around it is controlled by a corrupt, iron-fisted owner and his trigger-happy son, who work their miners half to death and silence anyone who dares complain. When Keenan steps in to protect a battered young woman from her abusive man, and befriends a stubborn old rancher standing alone against the mine owner's greed, he finds himself pulled straight into the trouble he swore to avoid. Caught between his fragile freedom and his conscience, the reformed drifter must decide whether to look away or risk everything to help the oppressed — rallying unlikely allies for a stand against the powerful men who run the town. 🎞️ Chapters / Timecodes: 00:00 – A Fresh Start on Parole 15:00 – Under the Marshal's Eye 30:00 – A Woman in Need of Help 45:00 – The Old Rancher's Stand 1:00:00 – Crossing the Mine Owner 1:15:00 – A Fight Worth the Risk ⚙️ Technical Information: The film has been digitally restored using modern tools to enhance image quality, color, and sound.
