DIY High Voltage Transformer | How To Make High Voltage Transformer Using Multi-Section Bobbin | Curious Chan
In a previous video, I shared some ideas on how to make a high voltage transformer using ferrite core transformer commonly found in computer power supplies and CRT TV boards. However, that method takes a long time to complete and if primary winding burns out, you will have to unwind secondary winding as well. In this video, we will use another method: multi-section bobbin. The idea here is that we will divide the secondary coil into multiple windings separated by insulation. This helps ease winding the coil to the point that it can be automated, and replacing both primary and secondary windings become much easier. However, this method reduces the usable area around the ferrite core. But if you're looking for an easy method to wind your own high voltage transformer, then this method is for you.
