The God Fahim is a legendary emcee and producer from Atlanta, Georgia who always strives to give the listener a soulful experience through sound. In the span of only a few years The God Fahim has dropped over 100+ projects making him one of the most prolific hip hop artists of all time. He first became known for a series of tapes frequently released which coined the phrase "Dump Gawd". He runs laps around time signatures, ricocheting between three or four rhyme patterns in the same verse. As a producer, he’s fond of instrumentals that sample noir and ninja flicks. Fahim’s catalog is approaching 70 tapes and counting.
The God Fahim was born in Ohio but his parents are from Chicago. While growing up, he moved back and forth between Chicago and Atlanta and even lived in Colorado at a time. Fahim first got into producing through a group from Chicago called The Freshmen who would give him tips on production.
In early 2015, Fahim released his debut tape "Shadows Over Nazereth" which was self-produced and draws upon his love of samurai art. Most reminiscent of New York antecedents Cormega and second-generation Wu-Tang Clan, Shadows’s cinematic fury makes for an insular, technically astute listen. Tracks “Shogunn” and “Hellface” establish the tape’s dark scenery, and the penultimate song “Love, Live, Life” is brimming with poignant narration. He collaborated with Buffalo producer Camoflauge Monk to produce BLVK PEARL later in the same year.
In 2016, he went on to release the album "Dream of Medina 1" which is eight tracks with two appearances the Atlanta rapper KunggFuu. He then released "Eyes of War" which was produced by Giallo Point in the same year.
Most of Fahim's projects are self-released through Fahim's bandcamp. Although labels like Low Tech, Daupe! and others have pressed vinyls of his releases, it wasn't until 2019 when he would officially release something with a label. This was his album "Star Truth" - which came out through Effiscienz. He later followed it up with "Dump Assassins" a full length LP collaboration with veteran producer DJ Muggs, through his own label Soul Assassins.
