It is a spellbinding artistic expression of religious worship.Each theyyam celebrates a legend.One such theyyam that attracts massive numbers is Maakkam.Maakkam was accused of wrongdoing by her sister in laws ,who disliked her. She and her children were killed and thrown in to the well.This theyyam is worship of heroine of tragedy and the story connects with emotions of love ,hate,jealousy,conspiracy ,trust and betrayal.
