I took a walk around Nashinoki Shrine near Kyoto Imperial Palace, where the Hagi flowers were in bloom, and enjoyed a bowl of spice curry created by a French sommelier. Then I visited a shop specializing in Showa-era deadstock tableware, which I had been curious about for a while. Surrounded by shelves filled with nostalgic dishes, I took my time searching for a few special pieces to bring home.
