What did Windows XP, iOS, and Android mean for people who are blind?   On this episode of Pushing Limits, join Denny Daughters as he talks with Mike Tanner to find out! Mike is a blind educator who teaches visually impaired children in Southern California, and this is part three of their ongoing series on the history of adaptive technology for the blind, covering the years 2000 to 2020.  They explore the arrival of iOS and Android and why these operating systems have been so important for blind users. They also discuss the screen reader programs that made computers and mobile devices more accessible during this period.  Denny opens the conversation with a look back at Windows XP and why its introduction was such an important milestone for people who use adaptive technology.  This program is hosted, edited, and produced by Denny Daughters.  The post The History of Adaptive Technology for the Blind — Part 3 – Pushing Limits – October 23, 2026 (https://kpfa.org/episode/pushing-limi...) appeared first on KPFA (https://kpfa.org) .
