AI is now solving math problems that stumped mathematicians for decades. So is it still worth learning math, or anything, deeply? In the last few months AI went from helping mathematicians to producing proofs on its own. OpenAI released hundreds of AI-written math papers, a Fields Medal winner broke down in tears, and some of the world's best mathematicians openly asked whether there is any point anymore. In this video I break down what actually happened, why it is not hype, and what it means for students, engineers and anyone who learns for a living. We look at how AI-generated proofs get checked with the Lean proof assistant, what Terence Tao, Steven Strogatz and Noga Alon are saying about AI in mathematics, and why Grigori Perelman's Poincaré proof and the Navier–Stokes problem matter in this story. We also go back to 1986, when teachers protested calculators in classrooms, to see what history says about tools that make a skill look obsolete. Then the bigger question: if AI can answer anything, why study a subject deeply at all? Using processor design as an example (nobody designs chips by hand anymore, yet more engineers work on them than ever), I explain why knowledge now multiplies what AI can do for you, why the same AI gives an expert and a beginner very different results, and why breakthroughs may now come from a curious intern as much as from a veteran expert. If you are a student, a software engineer or just someone wondering whether learning still matters in the age of AI, this one is for you.
