Habitat of the Monarch Butterfly 🦋 POV ASMR Walk | Los Alcornocales

Habitat of the Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus) in Europe: this walk along the Monarch Butterfly Trail joins both sections —from La Almoraima and from Castellar de la Frontera— combining footage filmed in spring and summer, from our visist to this trail in Los Alcornocales Natural Park, Cádiz, Spain. In this immersive video you'll hear dry leaves crunching underfoot, footsteps on the trail, crickets chirping, the sound of water, and birdsong. You'll see a peacock, fallen trees across the path, ants working, spider nests, and a Retinta cattle crossing the trail. The monarch butterfly, native to North America, found a lasting home in this region over a century ago — after being carried across the Atlantic by strong winds — thanks to the milkweed and silk vine growing here. While it's not common to spot one during the trail walk itself, we have occasionally seen some in our own garden, about 20 km from the area: the clip and photo of the butterfly featured in this video were filmed there, not on the trail itself. Total immersion in nature, perfect for relaxing, sleeping, studying, or working in the background.
