Dora and Boots are going full space mode in this gaming adventure! 🚀 A broken spaceship, five lost aliens, and a whole lot of shiny gems stand between them and the Purple Planet. 💜
This longplay shows the full trip from Earth to space, with planets, puzzles, keys, and lots of “we did it!” energy. ✨
Dora the Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet is an action-adventure game based on the Dora the Explorer TV episode of the same name. The game was developed by Monkey Bar Games / Vicious Cycle Software and published by Global Star Software for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube.
The story starts with Dora and Boots looking up at outer space when a flying saucer lands nearby. Five aliens from the Purple Planet — Flinky, Inky, Plinky, Dinky, and Al — arrive on Earth, but their ship falls apart. Dora and Boots set out to help them get back home by finding Isa’s rocket ship, collecting gems, and eventually travelling through space.
Gameplay mostly has you controlling Dora while Boots follows along. The game is built around exploring simple 3D areas, collecting gems, jumping across platforms, using mushrooms and springboards, solving basic timing challenges, and reacting to little obstacles like Swiper. Gems are needed to power Isa’s rocket ship, and later the adventure moves between different planets where Dora collects keys to open the way to the Purple Planet.
Dora and Boots travel through areas like Turtle River, Icky Sticky Sand, Crocodile Lake, Tall Mountain, outer space, and the Green, Yellow, Blue, Red, and Purple Planet sections.
