"The Thing On The Roof" by Robert E. Howard / a #shortstory from the #Cthulhu universe

Hello, hello, hello to the first "weird tale" of 2025, and the first of a series of "weird tales" in the following weeks. Today's story was written by Robert E. Howard, who is probably mostly well-known his epic Conan series. "The Thing on the Roof", is a a story very much reminiscent of Lovecraft's "Cthulhu" mythos. Not surprising since Howard and Lovecraft were friends, and Lovecraft was known for being very appreciative and supportive of other authors expanding the Cthulhu mythos. "The Thing On The Roof" is a story about forbidden knowledge, a mysterious book, ancient cults, and a terrifying creature. 00:00:00 - Intro 00:02:00 - The story starts here Find the story here: https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/060...
