Few passages of Scripture generate as much discussion today as Paul’s words about women teaching and exercising authority in the church. But what did Paul actually say—and what did he mean? In this message, we look carefully at the context of 1 Timothy 2 and God’s design for men and women in the church. Scripture presents men and women as equal in value and dignity, united in Christ, while also giving them distinct responsibilities within the household of God. As we wrestle with a difficult passage, our goal is not simply to follow the culture or defend a tradition, but to understand God’s Word faithfully and live it out with grace.
