The Scansonic HD M20.2 may be relatively compact but these Danish floorstanding speakers deliver a large, spacious and remarkably well-balanced performance.
Featuring a Kapton/aluminium ribbon tweeter, twin mid/bass drivers and two rear-mounted passive radiators, the M20.2 promises tighter bass, greater placement flexibility and a taste of genuine high-end sound.
I compare the M20.2 with my Quad ESL-57 electrostatics and the award-winning Q Acoustics 3050i. Using music from Lena Horne and Pilot, I explore the Scansonic’s bass character, ribbon-tweeter detail, soundstage, tonal realism and ability to reveal information that less expensive floorstanders can miss.
Could the M20.2 be the ideal upgrade from a pair of sub-£1,000 speakers? Watch the review to find out.
