Blige & Eminem *“Lord Above”* reaction, and this one turned into exactly what I’ve been waiting to hear from modern Eminem. First off, the beat is crazy. That grimy, soulful, New York-type production immediately had me interested. I actually rewound the opening because the beat was so good I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything lyrically. Then Mary comes in? Come on. We do NOT tolerate any hateration or holleration when Mary J. Blige is involved. But when Fat Joe started rapping, I wasn’t feeling it. I wanted to be. Especially once he dropped the Bay Area reference — because I’m from San Francisco — but that punchline still didn’t land for me. Then Eminem entered. And the entire record changed. The Mariah Carey / Nick Cannon section pulled me completely into the storytelling to the point that I forgot I was waiting for the beat to drop. That’s when I realized: Eminem had already taken over the record BEFORE the production even fully came back in. Then the verse just kept building. Gun metaphors. Jack in the Box wordplay. Anderson .Paak references. Success bars. Personal history. And the homage to LL Cool J. That last part is something I keep noticing about Eminem. When he pays homage, it usually feels natural because you can tell he actually means it. It doesn’t sound inserted just to get attention. And hearing him rap over this type of soulful, grimy production answered one of the biggest questions I’ve had during this entire Eminem rabbit hole: *What would modern Eminem sound like on a beat like THIS?* Now I know. He sounds ridiculous. My final verdict? Good record overall. But Eminem absolutely stole the show for me. *Did Eminem have the best verse on “Lord Above,” or am I disrespecting Fat Joe and Dre?* New reactions every day at **1 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM**. *Twitch:* InctWorld *Kick:* InctWorld CHAPTERS 00:00 Lord Above Reaction Begins 00:18 The Beat Immediately Gets My Attention 00:41 Rewinding the Opening Verse 01:07 This Beat Deserved Better Bars 01:44 The Verse Starts Building 02:18 Mary J.
