Bayl (Malaysia) - Trance / Electro / Psy | International EP. #84

Bayl joins us from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a transmission from his imagined dystopian cyberpunk world. Distorted voices, unresolved melodies, and sounds that refuse to behave become fragments of a bigger story, reflecting on the state of humanity. Moving between Techno, Trance, Electro, House, Psy and Progressive, he explores music that can feel beautiful, uncomfortable, or impossible to stand still to. Inspired by San Holo and Eric Prydz, Bayl begins with doom and gloom before finding his way towards euphoria, with a little melancholy still hanging in the air. His most memorable set happened in his own room, surrounded by seven friends — a small gathering with the heat and energy of a miniature Boiler Room. That closeness says something about what matters to him: the feeling music creates between the people sharing it. There is humour behind the darker sounds, too. His way of keeping anxiety at bay behind the decks? Imagining everyone in the crowd as bunnies. A gentle detail from someone whose imagined world carries a very human message. His message to the people: "Be humane in an inhumane world." Tune into Bayl’s world, where even the most distorted sounds leave room for something human. —— Bayl Instagram —   / houseofbayl   Youtube —    / @justcyberpunk   —— ABOUT DECKS&STORIESWe are a small music platform from Kaunas, Lithuania, sharing DJ mixes and the human stories behind them from around the world — one mix at a time, one country at a time.
