Arcadia Unlimited game #10: Daytona USA (1994 Sega)

Probably the best, or at least most popular, driving arcade game of all time. I suppose that's a bold statement considering all the great driving games over the years. And also considering that I like a lot of other driving games more than Daytona. But I do admit that this is a great game and I've known a LOT of people who absolutely love it. I know that for its time - 1994 - the graphics were absolutely stunning. I do remember being blown away by it. The sound and mechanics are great too. Really no complaints here. And I know it will be extremely popular in Arcadia Unlimited. Especially since I will have two of them (at least) linked together for racing. I'm still finishing up the second one so just one for now. I've done my best to restore these Daytonas to as close to their original glory as possible. The controls all feel and function like they did when new. The monitors have been rebuilt and have perfect pictures. The boards have been serviced by the Sega expert in CA, and I've installed all new cooling fans, hoping these games will last for many years. Only time will tell. As with (almost) all of our games, this Daytona is running on all original hardware including original game board, CRT monitor, and original controls, so it should play exactly as you remember it!
