Just days after celebrating our beautiful wedding and stepping into my new journey as a makoti, our family received the heartbreaking news of my brother-in-law’s passing. What was meant to be a time of joy, love, and celebration quickly turned into a time of grief, reflection, and coming together in a completely different way. In this vlog, I share the reality of navigating such a painful transition — from wedding happiness to preparing for a funeral, all within the same week. It’s raw, emotional, and deeply personal. As a new makoti, I also experienced firsthand the strength of family, tradition, and unity during such a difficult time.
