Painting and finishing the miner wood carving

The headlamp is just a half sphere of basswood. Cigarette is a piece of toothpick. Both glued on. Using watercolours to colour the miner. Basically, as long as you use artists quality you'll be fine. If you use student or cheap watercolours then the colours might fade over time. Failing that the pigments are rubbish and the colours aren't as vibrant or won't mix to give you the right colour. Next step is to coat it with Boiled Linseed Oil. Once it's dry I give it two coats of (any old) gloss varnish. Music: same as last video, from incompetech
