My first time drifting competitively was a steep learning curve. I hit the track at AVS for the Ultimate Drifting Challenge only to battle unexpected mechanical issues.
This video documents my experience entering my first official competition. While I headed into the day with high hopes, a failing clutch quickly turned the event into a masterclass in troubleshooting and resilience. You will see the behind-the-scenes reality of race car maintenance and the frustration that comes when your equipment does not cooperate during a crucial run.
Despite the early exit, analyzing these car problems is part of the journey. I am already focused on the necessary repairs to get back on the track for round two. Learning to handle a drift car under pressure is never straightforward, but every setback provides data for the next build.
Subscribe for my progress on future competitive rounds and let me know in the comments: what is the most frustrating mechanical failure you have experienced at a track event?
