Soxhlet Extractor Loading-Packet Loading

These videos are meant for beginner researchers in Chemistry and graduate students. A Soxhlet Extractor unit is used to carry out sequential extraction of plant materials. The full unit comprises of the extractor unit, a bulb condenser and a round- bottomed flask. Loading the extractor unit with plant material is the first stage of the process. Loading extractor can be done by direct filing of the extractor with pulverized plant material or we can make packets of pulverized plant material and insert into the extractor or we can use a thimble with the plant powder to place inside the extractor. This video explains how to make filter paper packets to load in the Soxhlet Extractor.
