A Week 8 matchup and Arroyo League game between the John Muir Mustangs and the Monrovia Wildcats.
John Muir - John Muir enters at 3-4 and is coming off of a heartbreaking and gutwrenching 7-0 league loss to La Cañada. Muir's losses are to Bonita, Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, and Newbury Park. Muir defeated St. Pius X, Bishop Montgomery, and Redondo Union. Last year, Muir went 9-2, winning out the Pacific League and making the CIF-SS Division 4 Playoffs. Both of their losses were to Charter Oak.
Monrovia - Monrovia is 4-3 and 0-1 in league following a 35-6 loss to Burbank last week. Monrovia's other losses came to Brentwood and Lawndale. Monrovia has wins over Eagle Rock, Roosevelt, and Kaiser, with a forfeit win over Pasadena. Last year, Monrovia finished 7-4, losing in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 10 playoffs to Hillcrest, the school that would go on to win the division.
