We live in a world crying out for good leadership, and one that keeps discovering how easily leaders fail us. Lamentations 4 doesn't shy away from this. It shows us a city undone by the sin of its own kings, priests and prophets, a people watching in vain for a saviour who never came. Yet even in that failure, something in the chapter keeps longing, keeps looking for a leader who wouldn't fail.
