樂器編制:揚琴獨奏與中樂室內樂團 作品長度:約十分鐘 樂曲由竹韻小集委約創作 Lan Kwai Rhapsody Composer: Luk Wai Chun Yangqin: Tan Jie Qing Conductor: Dedric Wong De Li Ensemble: Sichuan Symphony Orchestra - Melody of Beauties Summer Wind · In Bloom Presented by Sichuan Tianzi Guoyue (Sichuan Symphony Orchestra Charisma Ensemble) Saturday, 13 June 2026, 19:30 | Sichuan Symphony Hall Lan Kwai Rhapsody, a concertino for solo yangqin and Chinese chamber orchestra , is inspired by the Lan Kwai Fong in the Central, Hong Kong. Since the 1980s, Lan Kwai Fong has been a gathering place for both Chinese and Western culture, with bars and discotheques playing deafening electronic music and the sounds of people’s revelry every night. However, Lan Kwai Fong's predecessor was a quiet alley with many flower stalls, and it was also a gathering place for professional matchmakers, which is vastly different from the bustling scene today. Even so, at the end of Wo On Lane, you can still find an old red Sam Yi Kwan Temple. This small temple is out of place with the buildings and atmosphere of present-day Lan Kwai Fong, and passing through here is like traveling through time to the past. Lan Kwai Rhapsody uses music to travel through the present of the lively Lan Kwai Fong and depicts the composer's imagination of the scenes of the past with music to express the composer's emotional connection from the old architecture to the past of Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong. In this composition, it blends the characteristics from different musical languages, such as electronic music, jazz music, Cantonese music, and Nanyin music, highlighting Lan Kwai Fong as a symbol of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures in Hong Kong. In the middle section of the piece, the solo yangqin plays the motif of Nanyin music, symbolizing watching of the past scene from the small temple. Then, it leads the orchestra to travel through time to see the Lan Kwai Fong of the past in the twilight. Instrumentation: solo yangqin and Chinese chamber orchestra Duration: ~ 10 minutes Commissioned by Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble
