Doctor, Now What? What Nobody Tells You About Life After a PhD

I applied for adjunct instructor positions with my PhD and heard nothing. Zero responses. For over a year. And nobody told me why. April 16, 2018. They called me Dr. Hayden for the first time. I walked out of that room feeling completely lost. If you have ever finished your PhD, EdD, or DBA and asked yourself what comes next, you are not alone. In this first episode of Doctor, Now What? I share my full story. From post-dissertation fog to landing adjunct faculty positions at multiple colleges and universities. I talk about what I believed the degree would do, the silence that followed, the pivot that changed everything, and the lesson nobody assigns you after the dissertation is done. What you will learn in this video: Why the silence after the doctorate is more common than anyone talks about What actually happens when you apply for adjunct instructor positions with a corporate background How I went from lost to landing multiple adjunct faculty roles What life after the PhD, EdD, and DBA actually looks like Why Doctor is not the end of the sentence *CHAPTERS* 0:00 — The Day Everything Changed 0:20 — What I Believed the PhD Would Do 2:00 — The Letdown 3:45 — The Pivot: From Lost to Action 5:30 — The Lesson Nobody Assigns You 6:15 — The Mission Behind PhD Empowered 7:00 — The Promise 7:45 — Your Next Step New here?
