South West Coast Path | St Ives to Zennor | Wildest Coastline in Cornwall

This is 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟰 of my 630 mile journey walking the entire South West Coast Path. Today’s stretch: St Ives to Zennor Head, Cornwall. This is one of the most dramatic and demanding sections of coastline I’ve walked so far. The path here is relentless. Steep climbs, sharp descents and long stretches of uneven, rocky terrain that require full concentration from start to finish. But with that challenge comes reward. This stretch feels wild in every sense of the word. The Atlantic crashes into the cliffs with real force, especially at Treveal where the sea is funnelled through a narrow gap between the mainland and a small offshore island. It’s raw, powerful and completely absorbing to watch. Wildlife is everywhere here too. I was lucky enough to spot multiple seals along this stretch, something that never really gets old no matter how many times you see them. This is not a beginner friendly section of the coast path. Good footwear and confidence on rough terrain are essential, but if you’re prepared for it, it’s one of the most rewarding stretches you can walk. 🍺 Places worth stopping There are no places for food or drink directly on this stretch, so make sure you go prepared. But once you reach Zennor, there is only one place you need to go. The Tinner Arms An absolute non negotiable stop at the end of this walk. Incredible food, great atmosphere and some of the best beer you’ll find on the coast path. If you get the chance, order a pint of Zennor Lager.
