Welcome aboard this trip report on Aeroméxico flight AM508, flying from Mexico City International Airport (MEX Terminal 2) to the sunny shores of Cancún (CUN) aboard a Boeing 737-800. The morning began with a smooth check-in at Terminal 2, followed by a bit of spontaneous plane spotting — always a treat at MEX, with widebodies and domestic narrowbodies in constant motion. But what I didn’t expect was nearly missing my flight: AM508 was assigned to a remote stand, meaning a bus gate departure. A last-minute sprint got me to the gate just in time for the final boarding call. Boarding via the apron gave me some great ramp views and a close-up look at our 737 under the early light. Once seated, we pushed back on schedule and taxied out for a northward departure, circling eastward as we climbed out over the Valley of Mexico. This short-haul domestic flight offered a light snack and beverage service. The Aeroméxico crew was warm and attentive, creating a smooth experience in the air. We cruised above scattered clouds and mountain ranges before descending over the lush greens of Quintana Roo.
