There is no UMLAND without THE DORF, and vice versa. The Dorf orchestra is a motley crew of individualists, founded in 2006 by bandleader Jan Klare and constantly evolving ever since. Just like in a village, people live together; new residents join, old ones say goodbye, and tourists visit. There are village elders, rowdy youths, and every now and then, everyone comes together—just like at a folk festival—with a burst of energy and a zest for fun. Through regular gatherings, the community grows; new houses are built, plots of land are reclaimed, and residents launch projects outside the village.
