In this episode of KnitChat, I’m knitting at Beaver Lake in Montréal while talking about something I’ve been thinking about a lot: trusting God when His plans don’t align with our timeline, expectations, or desires. Jeremiah 29:11 is such a comforting verse, but there’s a part of the context we often8 leave out — Israel was still going to spend 70 years in exile. God had good plans for His people, but those plans didn’t mean immediate comfort, prosperity, or getting everything they wanted. God is not a genie who exists to grant our wishes. Sometimes His answer is wait. Sometimes it’s no. Sometimes He takes us through seasons we never would have chosen for ourselves. So how do we continue trusting Him when life is hard? How do we hold onto faith when we can't see what He's doing?
