In 1959, a Turkish army captain studying aerial photos spotted a ship-shaped formation below Mount Ararat. Was it Noah's Ark? We follow the evidence.
In Case 001, Theo Clay opens the file on one of history's most famous mysteries. We look at the size of Noah's Ark in cubits and whether a wooden ship that big could float, how many animals it would have to carry, the flood stories that are older than Genesis (the Epic of Gilgamesh, Atrahasis and the Ark Tablet), the flood layer Leonard Woolley found at Ur in Mesopotamia, and the 1960 expedition to the Durupınar site near Mount Ararat.
In this case:
• Was Noah's Ark ever found?
• How big was Noah's Ark, really?
• Is there evidence of a great flood?
• What is the ship-shaped formation in Turkey?
