One of Our Favourite Campsites in Europe! | Camping Valkenburg Trappeur Tent Review

If you're planning a road trip through the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany, Camping Valkenburg - Maastricht should definitely be on your shortlist! On our journey back from Germany, we spent one night here in one of the Trappeur Tents, and it quickly became one of our favourite campsites we've possibly ever stayed at. It perfectly combines the adventure of camping with the comfort of having everything you need already waiting for you. The Trappeur Tent was such a unique experience. Sleeping under canvas while still having proper beds, a kitchenette, a private bathroom, a cosy living area and even a wood-burning stove made it feel like the perfect mix of camping and glamping. It's ideal if you love being close to nature but don't want to sacrifice comfort. One of the biggest reasons we loved this campsite is its location. Nestled amongst the beautiful rolling hills of Limburg, it's peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet its only around 2 km from the picturesque town of Valkenburg and around 15 km from the city of Maastricht - which we didn't get time to go to! Whether you enjoy exploring caves and castle ruins, cycling through the countryside, wandering historic streets or simply relaxing back at camp, it's an amazing base for discovering this stunning part of the Netherlands. The campsite itself has everything you need for a great stay, including heated swimming pools, a restaurant and food truck, fresh bread available in the mornings, a small shop for essentials, modern washroom facilities and plenty of space to unwind after a day of exploring. Whether you're travelling in a campervan, caravan, tent or looking for glamping accommodation like we did, there's something for everyone.
