Are String Pin Machines Comparable to Free-Fall?

Watch me bowl a game on USBC Certified Competition Mode. Did I lose carry because of my ball reaction (the ball I was using to start) or because of the string pin machines? I practiced on string pin machines during my time at the University of Nebraska between 2008-2012 and these machines have come a long way since then! I actually really enjoyed bowling on them - they're quieter, just as fast at setting the pins down, and I only had one tangle.
