Do you have meaningful memories to preserve but worry that you’re not a good enough writer? If you can tell someone a story over a cup of coffee, you already have most of what you need to write a personal life story. In Video 2 of the five-part Your Stories Online: Write, Record and Share series, Gordon Deyell introduces four simple questions that can turn one memory into a focused story: • Where and when did it happen? • Who was involved? • What happened? • Why does the memory still matter to you? You’ll also learn how to write in your natural voice, focus on one scene, add sensory details, and end with a reflection that helps your family understand why the experience matters. You don’t need formal writing experience, an impressive vocabulary, or perfect grammar. Your first story can be approximately 300–500 words and sound like you—not a professional author. Your action step is simple: choose one memory and write one or two sentences in response to each of the four questions. Don’t edit yet. Just get the memory onto the page. 📄 Download The Four-Question Story Planner: https://ac4c-gord.systeme.io/45bc933e 🎓 Learn about Your Stories Online: Write, Record and Share: https://onlineafter50.ca ▶️ Subscribe for patient, beginner-friendly guidance on writing, recording, preserving, and sharing your family stories.
