Raag Bhairavi inspired bansuri music tuned to 432Hz — 20 minutes of Indian classical meditation music for morning anxiety, calm and mental clarity.
Some mornings your body wakes up before you've decided to.
This deeply meditative composition is a Saraswati Ragas original — inspired by the mood and emotional character of Raag Bhairavi — blending 432Hz with bansuri and tanpura to support calm, grounding and a slower start to the day. This piece draws on Raag Bhairavi's emotional character and is not presented as a formal classical rendition.
"The day hasn't asked anything of you yet. Stay here a while."
Bhairavi gives its name to one of the ten thaats of Hindustani classical music, and it is unusual in using all four komal swaras — komal re, ga, dha and ni. That flattening is what gives it its inward, yielding quality. Traditionally it belongs to the early morning, but it carries a second role: Bhairavi is the raga that closes a concert. When a performance ends, whatever the hour, musicians turn to Bhairavi. It has become the sound of things being set down.
📝 Note from Nishant:
I made this because mornings were the hardest part of my day for a long time — awake before I was ready, already tense about things that hadn't happened yet. Bhairavi was the raga I kept returning to, not because it energises but because it doesn't ask anything. I reach for it when I need the first thirty minutes of the day to be quiet before anything else starts.
🎵 PERFECT FOR:
The first thirty minutes after waking, before your phone
Morning meditation and pranayama
Working through morning anxiety or a tight chest
Slow mornings with tea or journaling
Yoga and breathwork
Background calm while you get ready without rushing
🎵 WHY RAAG BHAIRAVI HELPS:
Bhairavi's komal swaras give the melody a settling, downward feel rather than a rising one — nothing in it reaches or strives. The tempo sits slower than a resting pulse, and the bansuri's long meend, the glides between notes, move at roughly the pace of a slow exhale. There are no vocals to follow and no lyrics to process, so the mind has something to rest on rather than something to attend to. That combination suits early morning, when the nervous system is still deciding what kind of day this is.
🎧 HOW TO USE THIS MUSIC:
Headphones or low speaker, comfortable volume
Within the first hour of waking, before checking your phone
Seated upright or lying down, somewhere with a little light
Let the first three minutes pass doing nothing
Breathe out longer than you breathe in
Stay 15–20 minutes for the full effect
When it ends, sit for one more minute before you move
