The original "Tico-Tico no Fubá" is a famous Brazilian instrumental choro piece composed in 1917 by Zequinha de Abreu. The title translates to "the tico-tico bird on the cornmeal," mimicking the quick, bouncing movements of a small sparrow pecking at food. this is my version of the song . Sergey Ignatov is a Russian-American multi-instrumentalist and music educator known for technical fingerstyle guitar work and layered solo arrangements. In this Tico-Tico performance, he plays both acoustic guitar and double bass himself, using split-screen editing to layer the fast choro melodies with the steady bassline in a single take. He trained classically from age 9 in guitar, upright bass, and piano at a jazz-focused music school in Russia, and has been performing and touring since his teens.
