NASIP Toolkit Validation Workshop

AKADEMIYA2063 organized a virtual technical workshop to discuss and validate the draft NASIP Toolkit for Conducting Kampala CAADP Diagnostics with CAADP stakeholders. The Toolkit provides a practical approach for countries to conduct the three diagnostics: 1. The Kampala Status Assessment and Profile (K-SAP)—which assesses a country’s performance and alignment with the Kampala goals and targets, identifying progress, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. 2. The Kampala Goals and Milestones (KGM)—which identifies intermediate targets for the next decade to guide progress toward the Kampala goals, highlighting policy and investment options, trade-offs, and country-specific priorities to inform NASIP planning; and 3. The Kampala Policy and Program Opportunities (K-PPO)—which identifies specific policy actions, programs, and good practices to strengthen NASIP implementation and accelerate agrifood systems transformation. Given the multi-sectoral nature of the Kampala CAADP Agenda, technical validation of the Toolkit requires the engagement of continental, regional, and national stakeholders. The workshop provided a platform to review the Toolkit’s technical soundness, practical applicability, country relevance, and implementation requirements, while building the capacity among technical experts expected to support Kampala CAADP domestication and NASIP formulation.
