Daytona demands precision, consistency, and confidence at high speed. The unique combination of a technical infield section and the long, fast oval makes the Daytona International Speedway one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar. Finding the right balance between cornering performance and straight-line speed is crucial, as every tenth gained or lost through the infield can have a major impact down the long straights and through the banking. The technical infield rewards smooth inputs and strong traction, while the high-speed oval sections demand absolute confidence and precise car placement. The Bus Stop Chicane is one of the key braking zones on the track and provides an important overtaking opportunity, while a strong exit onto the oval can set up slipstream battles all the way to Turn 1. Over a full race distance, tyre management, fuel strategy, and maintaining a consistent rhythm are essential. Small mistakes through the infield can quickly turn into significant losses on the straights, making clean exits and smart racecraft just as important as outright pace. In this video, I’m racing the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) in Round 7 of the SRi – UKSR GT3 Championship (Season 19), pushing hard through both qualifying and the race.
