The zany adventures of a suburban family, their next-door neighbors, and an innovative robot designed to look like a human child. (Episodes 1 through 7 of season 1, in order.) ▪ Episode 1 ∙ "Vicki's Homecoming" Vicki, or V.I.C.I. (Voice Input Child Identicant), is a covertly built robotic domestic assistant in the shape of a 10-year-old girl, to whom housewife Joan takes a shine, and to which 10-year-old son Jamie immediately takes advantage of as a maid to clean his room and do his homework. Vicki is brought home for assembly and long-term field beta testing by Genius United Robotronics cybernetics engineer Ted Lawson for long-term field beta testing and assembly. ▪ Episode 2 ∙ "The Neighbors" A power outage at the Brindles' residence prompts the nosy neighbors to invite themselves over for supper. Vicky, of course, piques their interest and causes them to raise a number of questions for which the Lawsons are unable to provide an explanation. Can Vicky blow the evening and her cover, or can the Lawsons stop her? ▪ Episode 3 ∙ "The Sitter" Vicky gets assigned as Ted and Joan's nighttime babysitter for their son Jamie. But can we really believe Jamie won't abuse a helpful robot? Is Vicky prepared to work as a nanny? ▪ Episode 4 ∙ "The Suitor" Warren, one of Jamie's classmates, visits the house and falls in love with Vicky. Warren, however, is upset when Jamie tries to break up the couple by programming Vicky with insults. ▪ Episode 5 ∙ "Sibling Rivalry" Feeling abandoned because of his parents' obsession with Vicky, Jamie makes the decision to flee. However, the family grows alarmed when he uses Vicky as a way to avoid talking to his parents. ▪ Episode 6 ∙ "Spielberg, Jr." When Jamie takes leadership of his school project, he becomes a despot. Jamie's parents and best buddy Reggie, however, won't allow him carry on without giving him an etiquette lesson. ▪ Episode 7 ∙ "The Lie" When Jamie claims that Harriet's cousin damaged the teapot, his parents don't think he's telling the truth.
