in zhangjiajie for the very first time (day1)

My first time in Zhangjiajie 张家界 felt like a mix of mountain views, local food and little unexpected moments. We spent half a day exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, heading up to Yuanjiajie 袁家界 and crossing the First Bridge Under Heaven, with a few monkeys along the way. Between bumpy bus rides, huge portions and restaurants recommended by locals, I also found a dish that reminded me of my mom’s cooking (and encountered a few too many cockroaches). A very real first day in Zhangjiajie.
