It all started with a father, a son sick with meassels and the sound of a train whistle that brought childhood to everyone, that is The Railway Series, stories written with care and love by The Reverend Wilbert Awdry, not just about trains, but about unique characters, learning, and belonging. Passed from father to son, then from one generation to the next, these little tales of Sodor became something bigger than just book pages. Thomas the Tank Engine isn’t just a childhood memory. He’s a reminder that being "really useful" means showing up, caring for others, finding pride in the small things and proving that that little people just like little engines can do big things. When the books found their way to television, something magical happened, Britt Allcroft, a woman with a storyteller’s heart and a filmmaker’s eye brought them to life with love. Her touch is still there, in the warmth, the pacing, the esence of it all. And to this day, Thomas still runs, not just on tracks, but through time carrying with him the echoes of storytimes and voices that taught us how to be better, by being responsible, reliable and most of all... really useful.
