Sail Boston 2026: Riding the Ferris Wheel Over Boston Harbor

The Sail Boston 2026 experience takes an unexpected turn as I climb aboard the festival Ferris wheel for a completely different view of Boston Harbor, the Seaport, and the visiting tall ships. I am not especially comfortable with heights, but the enclosed gondola looked secure, the harbor views were too good to pass up, and sometimes you just have to say yes to the experience. From above the festival, we take in: Tall ships docked around Boston Harbor The Seaport skyline Boston Fish Pier The Bunker Hill Monument in the distance Festival crowds and waterfront attractions The Sail Boston music pavilion Golden-hour views across the harbor A few nervous moments as the gondola sways in the wind Sail Boston brought ships and crews from around the world to the city for several days of waterfront events, tours, food, music, and festival activity. This ride offers a view of the celebration that we could not get from the Harborwalk below. As always, this is the experience as it happened.
