Mythodea brought together electronic music, symphonic orchestra, choir and ancient Greek imagery, and was officially connected with NASA’s 2001 Mars Odyssey mission. The concert featured the London Metropolitan Orchestra, the Greek National Opera Choir, and renowned sopranos Jessye Norman and Kathleen Battle, conducted by Blake Neely. After the complete Mythodea performance, Vangelis returned with the iconic “Chariots of Fire” as an encore — one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
