Caring by Design

Welcome to Caring by Design, the second episode of “____ by Design.” This time, host Brian Reynolds brings the lawn chairs and coffee to the wrestling room at Olentangy Orange High School to sit down with his longtime friend Brian Nicola, the school’s girls wrestling coach. After 25 years of friendship, Brian describes Nicola as one of the most caring people he knows. That care carries into his coaching, where knowing his athletes as people comes first. Their conversation explores how you build trust while holding people accountable, and how the lessons learned on the mat stay with you long after your last match. There are also plenty of laughs, including a story about a wrestling singlet that made an unexpected appearance at a pool party. Grab a cup of coffee and join us for a conversation about leading with care.
