What happens if you blanch red bell peppers before dehydrating them? 🌶️ I decided to find out! In this video, I’m preserving fresh red bell peppers from start to finish, but this time I’m trying something I’ve never done before — *blanching the peppers before putting them in the dehydrator.* Does blanching make a difference in the color, texture, drying process, or final result? Come along with me as I test it out and see whether this extra step is actually worth doing. Dehydrating bell peppers is a simple way to preserve your harvest, reduce food waste, and keep peppers on hand long after the growing season is over. Once dried, they can be stored for later and used in soups, stews, sauces, seasonings, and all kinds of homemade meals. And these peppers aren't finished yet! I’m also experimenting with turning some of my dehydrated red peppers into **homemade paprika**, so stay tuned for that next experiment. 🌶️ If you're interested in growing your own food, preserving your harvest, becoming more self-sufficient, and making the most of what you grow, you're in the right place. 🌱 *In this video:* • Preparing fresh red bell peppers • Blanching peppers before dehydrating • Dehydrating red bell peppers • Comparing the results • Tips for preserving peppers for long-term use • What I plan to make with them next 💬 *Have you ever blanched bell peppers before dehydrating them?* Tell me in the comments whether you think it makes a difference — I'd love to hear how you preserve yours! 👍 If you enjoy practical gardening and food-preservation experiments like this one, please like the video and subscribe so you don't miss what's growing, preserving, and cooking next. #DehydratingPeppers #RedBellPeppers #FoodPreservation #PreservingTheHarvest #DehydratingFood #HomemadePaprika #SelfSufficiency #GardenHarvest
