Chores and responsibilities came before play, and although I didn’t fully appreciate those lessons as a child, I certainly understand them now. There was also a season of my life when keeping my home clean felt like a battle I could never win. Today, living in my own space, cleaning feels completely different. It’s peaceful. It’s therapeutic. And it’s something I no longer take for granted.
