Timbuktu Notes green mango, pink pepper berries, cardamom, karo karounde flower, smokey incense of papyrus wood, patchouli, myrrh, vetiver Fragrance Quick Story Five wearing just because I don’t want to piss a bunch of people off. My opinion on one of the beloved fragrances in the community. I take them on because I want to love them to for the most part I do. Does anyone have any reformulation experience because the guys who go goo goo over this I just really want to make sure we are wearing the same thing. Overall this is a great original composition. Those that watch my channel know where I am going. If they would use a really good indian vetiver and a patchouli that doesn’t smell synthetic this could be something truly over the top special. The patchouli is exceptionally blended in this I have just become to familiar with the note and it is stale and boring when used by perfumers, especially when this fragrance is supposed to be something over the top special to a lot of people. A lot of people who I blind buy from. This is one case where my patchouli study has backfired I really think I would of enjoyed this ten times more if I did not become so familiar with the note. Sillage is key to me. Smelling to skin is ruined by a couple of synthetic notes. Fragrance in my opinion compared to Perfumes Notes Green Mango is a bright morning hello from the island before the big adventure. I have been around lot’s of fresh mango in the Caribbean islands via Trinidad and Tobago. This is not the mango they introduced me to. This is unripened crisp not ready to eat mango. I get a gag reflex from fresh mango smell and have yet to smell a real close authentic one in perfume. A ton going on blended over the top good. Green mango gives off an entire different vibe varying from a heavy hydrosol to only a little hydrosol effect. Cardamom adds an aromatic oriental note. The karo karounde is a different floral take kind like a way more earthy jasmine without the sharp effects. Turns into leather suitcase bags. Very work leather surprising this isn’t called timbuktu leather J/K seems like people are just putting leather after whatever name. So this is an older fragrance but the leather note in the drydown honestly is a little boring and very synthetic. Nothing really stands out compared to what other people are doing with leather. Again I don’t know if there are different formulations but three hours for what i am left with is just not that appealing. I really kep wearing this to make absolutely sure because I know I am going to hurt some feeling. Has to be said I don't’ want to shy away from critique. These houses need to know they are always being watched and can’t dumb things down for money. I have seen it so many times I don’t know if it is the case I just really trust the guys that love this and I just can’t see them extremely loving what I have currently on my skin. Soapy leather synthetic patchouli.
