#ambient A free interpretation of Alfred Tennyson's poem "Ulysses" Text - (Verse ) The tide may rise, the deep may call, As evening shadows softly fall. The iron strength of yesterday Has gently faded far away. (Verse ) Yet much is taken, much remains, A quiet fire within the veins. We see the shades of those we knew, The ancient friends, the brave and true. (Chorus / Climax - but soft) We are not now the mighty force, That moved the earth and heaven's course. But what we are, we truly are: A steady vessel, sailing far. (Outro) One equal temper, calm and deep, A silent promise we still keep. To strive, to seek, to find the light... And never yield unto the night. The second option— (Verse ) The waters rise... The shadows fall. We hear the distant, echoing call. The strength of youth has slipped away, Like golden dust at end of day. (Verse ) Much is taken. Much abides. A quiet ember still inside. We touch the Happy Isles in mind, And leave the heavy shores behind. (Bridge) Made weak by time... But strong in will. The heart is quiet. The soul is still. (Outro - fading out) To strive... To seek... To find the gleam. And never yield... To the fading dream.
